Got off to a late start this evening, so it was getting dark by the time I ran the last mile or two. One plus to that was I got to hear not only the peepers (who are now mainly active in the evening) but also toads doing their mating calls (instead of the "peep, peep, peep" of the froggies, toads do a long drawn out high pitched trill... not at all what you'd expect from a chunky little amphibian.)
