COAST IS NO MORE... SIGH...
Wednesday, March 13, 2024

I'm pretty up front that my favorite band is Runrig (now retired, sadly, and we recently lost their 2nd lead singer Bruce Guthro) but a close second is probably another celtic rock band called Coast. I can't remember if I came across their music back in 2016 through recommendations on the Runrig FB page or recommendations on Amazon, though the former seems likely given that most of their albums aren't available through Amazon Music (I think I purchased them through Itunes, though it's possible I got them directly from Coast's website.)

Today I pulled up their Facebook page after being unable to find any info anywhere else (their website is gone, which in and of itself should have clued me in) and found the following post from last May:

To all the wonderful fans and followers of COAST, who have supported and inspired the band over its fourteen year journey, we would like to say a huge and sincere thank you.

Today we are a little sad (and a little relieved) to announce an end to the recording and touring activities of COAST.

Headwinds of various types made the last few years quite challenging to navigate and ultimately the collective effort required to keep the COAST ship sailing became greater than is sensible to endure.

We have enjoyed some incredible musical experiences and been very lucky to work with some amazing people along the way and for that we are forever grateful.

Look out for announcements of new music, projects and collaborations across and outwith the COAST family.

Much love and warmest wishes to all,

 COAST
