Frogs call "peep, peep, peep, peep" from the swamp.
Rabbits and deer bound away as the runner draws near.
Spider's eyes reflect the headlamp's light like turquoise jewels.

ABOUT THE PHOTO: Thacher Park was the first nature space I went to in the Albany area, back in the late 1990's when I first started trail running and ran my first trail race, the Indian Ladder 15k (sadly no longer on the race calendar.) It remains dear to my heart and I need to make an effort to walk and run there more often, as I did in early June.
Trail running, distance running, hiking, road and mountain biking, paddling, snowshoeing, XC skiing, martial arts... and anything else I feel like writing about!
