Listening to the Falling Rain

Early this morning I woke up to the sound of fairly heavy rainfall outside. Wondered briefly about what it would do to my plans to run today, then let the sound of the rain lull me back to sleep. One of the pleasures of being a teacher in the summer...

This evening two thunderstorms have swept through, bringing fairly heavy rain with them. On the one hand, it messes up my plans to run tonight... I don't mind the rain that much, but the lightning does give me pause! On the other hand, I enjoy listening to the rain... partly because it takes me back to summers when I was much younger, sitting on my parents' front porch reading while it rained. But mostly because... I just enjoy listening to the rain.
