Today the WMAC Snowshoe Series page was updated with the new information for the 2008 season (which tentatively starts just a little before 2008, on December 30.)

I started snowshoe running 2 years ago, after reading that it's excellent lower impact exercise, a great cardiovascular workout, and a good leg strengthener... as well as being lots of fun for those of us crazy enough to get into it! As the race schedules are being put together for both the WMAC series and the various groups out in the western part of the state, I'm finding myself starting to get a little bit excited at the prospect of getting out on my snowshoes again!

Of course, snowshoe races are very weather-dependent... the first month of races last year was cancelled/rescheduled/run as trail races due to lack of snow. But with luck we'll have a bit more of the white stuff this season and lots of weekends of torturous fun!
