Mendon Trail Runs 20K - DNS
Saturday, November 10, 2007
After a week of little sleep (finished off by getting 2 hours of sleep between 6 AM Thursday and 10:30 PM Friday) and far too much work, plus fighting a cold that finally started to recede a bit during the day on Friday... I decided to skip the Mendon Trail Runs this year and concentrate on getting back into shape for running the Lil' Rhody Runaround next Sunday down in Rhode Island.
With the end of the term approaching like a Japanese Shinkansen (bullet train) I have no doubt that this week is going to be very busy too... but I intend to work on regaining some balance between work, training, and sleep... in other words, I'm going to get out to run and ride this week!
Speaking of which... last night while running errands I stopped at DSW and ended up buying a new pair of road shoes - a pair of Adidas Supernova's. My first pair of running shoes were Adidas Argonauts, and I used Adidas road shoes for quite a few years until I started running exclusively on trails. While I've been very happy with my Saucony Omni's, I've found the trail version of the Supernovas to be pretty comfortable, so I'm pleased to have a chance to try the road version.
